The Sanatana Dharma, which stands for universal peace and prosperity, is broadly devised with stress on Varna ashrama system. The process that guides this system starts with the study of Vedas and Sastras by eligible candidates from their early childhood. To begin with, the boys have to be initiated through a ritual called Upanayana Samskaram. This involves preparation of the child with certain holy offerings to the gods, introduction of daily practices to be adhered thereafter, and with certain dos and don’ts.
This booklet provides the concept and summary of all activities performed during upanayanam.
